Bad

Disappointing

I was a big fan of the other F-Zero incarnations, including the SNES, GBA update, and especially F-Zero X for the Nintendo 64. In comparison, this game is a huge disappointment. The best part about F-zero X was the great sense of speed; This game feels clunky and sluggish in comparison. The cars meander and drag down the track.

Almost as bad was the system of 'unlockables'. I expect hidden cars and tracks from this series, but in GX, only a small trickle of content is available in the beginning, and you have to trudge through the game you don't even really want to play, with its mediocre 'story' garbage, just to unlock enough content to make it enjoyable....content that should have been available from the start.

Imagine wanting to pick up and play this game with a couple friends, who enjoyed Fzero X, only to find '......sorry guys, we gotta play single player for a few hours, THEN the fun can begin!'

Good

A racing game is a hit or miss by the tracks.

And this one doesn't have the greatest tracks. Not a bad game, but nothing special.

Pros:
High speed racing.
Familier characters.

Cons:
Uninteresting tracks.
Steering is much too tight for this type of game.
