this game is alot like the god of war series...cool weapon w/simple upgrading via orb collecting & the gameplay is practically identical... puzzles and fighting and puzzles and fighting and a plot with a twist and some moral lesson coming to a head. Great game overall about 8.5 and like I said if you love the god of war games this one is definitely for you.
I found the technical aspects in this game quite inconsistent. I like where they went with the UE3 in terms of draw distance and decent character models, but the performance on the PS3 wasn't impressive at all. But they did do things with UE that many don't even try and I salute NT once again. (Was impressed with Heavenly Sword)
In any case, I like the combat although it was really a chore on hard as enemies just took too many hits. It really slowed things down for a game that already took combat pretty slow as the amount of enemies started coming in waves. As opposed to the player, who could only take a handful of hits I had to deal out maybe 8-10 hits for each enemy and multiply that by 3-4 (entire group). Reinforcements would literally kill my desire to play.
Also if the chapter system could be turned into something more forgiving for the fetch quests, that would be much appreciated in the sequel. Maybe several points in each chapter I could go to after I complete a chapter or the game? Going through entire chapters several times to collect all the tech orbs was definitely a pain. Of course I didn't have to but I like to platinum games that are fairly easy. But it was annoying especially after I had already went through the game several times to collect all the masks. Unecessary frustration IMO. I guess at least the set-up isn't like MGS4 which would've been an extreme pain had it had trophies.
