This game is, if anyone reading this didn't already know, was developed by Team Ninja.--The makers of fabled Heavenly Sword for the PS3. Great development team, great game, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West delivers an awesome single-player action/adventure experience. The characters, emotion and dialog were the best part of the game for me. Gameplay was a good mix of combat and platforming, it was shorter than I wanted it. Now you don't want a game too long, getting repetitive. but at the same time, if the game is enjoyable enough, you don't want the ride to end either. In the case of Enslaved, it was a bit short. Clarification on two subject matters: 1) Replay Value and 2) The "Bad" Ending. First of all, there is good replay value in this game despite it being short. A true gamer can always replay the game on Hard mode. And there are lots of collectibles in each level that I doubt many people 100%'ed on their first playthrough. Not to mention it is an Xbox 360 game, I personally had fun replying sections of the game to earn some of those missed achievements. Reply value is solid. and the "bad" ending... it was abrupt and sad. Not "bad." It also makes way for future DLC wish I'm pretty sure is the case, being one of the main menu options in the game. So in terms of rent over buy, this game is definitely a buy.
Gamerscore Incentive:
This game has easy achievements. Playing through on Normal will earn you the majority of them. Most other achievements can be re-obtained playing specific chapters and meeting the requirements (kill achievements, ect). the only missable achievements in the game are the Normal and Hard playthroughs. As long as you don't change the difficulty, you won;t miss it. Difficulties stack as well. The collectible achievements should be easy enough with a guide to give ya 1000/1000.
