Bad

Apparently 3rd party porting was not a good idea

Before I rip into this game, I'm going to let you know that I'm a huge fan of the PC Version of this game. The PC version is one of my favorite multiplayer games of all time if not my all time favorite. Splash Damage did a great job making it, but handing it over to a 3rd party for the 360 port just didn't work out... at all.

There are various things that were done to this game that unfortunately, pretty much made it a shell of it's former self. See the list below:

-Going prone has been completely removed
-1st person Vehicle view is now removed
-Strogg Technicians now insta-revive taking away game play balance
-Strogg Spawn Hosts often will not be able to be created (bug)
-Mines no longer must be armed and are now auto-armed
-The max player limit is down from 24 to 16
-The Ranking system is bugged and often doesn't track stats at all
-Player movement speed has been increased (and)
-Player thumb-stick sensitivity is capped so low that looking up and down is still slow even with it maxed out (dumb combo)
-Bots will consistently team kill you and your team
-The upgrades system has been entirely redone, and the rewards have become generic
-Voice chat quick commands have been overly simplified, and you can no longer get bots to easily do tasks that were supposed to be available from the PC version.
-The match-making system has been downgraded from the PC version with no game browser support and it takes forever to find a game

To add to all this, playing online will almost always result in either, lag, bad lag, really bad lag, or lag so bad that it stops the entire game. The above reasons would probably explain why this game has next to no one playing it (if no one at all at times.) The aforementioned is not a good thing for a game that was meant to be primarily multi-player.

I would recommend getting this game for PC, as long as you have a video card that can handle it. If you really must get this game for 360, then you can buy it cheaply for obvious reasons.

The game Enemy territory: Quake Wars is a kind of Love or hate kind of game (as you can see in the title). The game has little to no story, but the enjoyment is in the gameplay. great graphics lots of challenge, yes the strogg vehicles are more powerful, but the strogg guns aren't as good as the GDF's. This game was a great if not excellent attempt to bring amazing multiplayer to people with low budgets. So, I will say this try before you buy folks, but if your multiplayer centric then buy it immediately. ??
