Okay, for starters, the background for this game was real good. Lots of different color schemes used to make it look good, but that was the problem. They focused on making it look good, rather than making the gameplay and story good. Oh sure, 7 angels forsake their god, go to earth, turn it into a crazy world that looks like something you would see when you're high, and only one guy, who can only use 3 weapons, has to bring them back. And what was up with the fallen angels appearing at random to fight you? Wouldn't it make sense to fight them at the end of a level, instead of in the middle of a level? Not a game worth playing, or even renting for that matter. To put it simply, NEXT!
It was so pretty I really wanted it to be great, but 2/3 of the way through it (chapter 8) I just couldnt stomach any more gameplay. There was WAY too much platforming but none of it fun, just annoying.Yes,camera angles are maddening and distances mostly unmeasurable.Want solid platforming? Try Alice. Combat? 1 button attack.Heres their advanced strategy advice: Hold attack button, wait for enemy to swing, let go of button to counter. Yes no dodging,so ur either jumping ALOT or hitting your 1 button.Music in the first half was very strange but quite good.Levels off-the-charts beautiful but TOTALLY uninspired tactical design. All in all it would seem that they came up with a jaw dropping way to spin the graphic engine but failed to attach some kind of updated gameplay. If the story hadnt been as wild as the graphics I would have thought I was playing a PS1 game. Rent if curios but who would ever want to play it twice?
