This was probably the best looking game I have ever played but I had no idea what was going on. There was basically no story and the games play became extremely repetitive just after the first hour. I almost put it down twice but I had to finish it.
t the visuals were great, at least entertaining to watch and is the reason I played through the entire game. The battles are of course repetitive and the game leaves you wondering why am I getting all these red orbs? I was waiting for a maybe some simple upgrades the weapons I had or maybe a new combo but no they keep you in the dark until you find out that they let you get a special attack later in the game. It still seemed strange to me that you get these before you get the attack and I saw no point to it.
Aside from no health bar and pointless orbs I came across I found myself trying to get these secret objects throughout the game which seemed to to do absolutely nothing for me. I couldn't understand why i was even going out of my way for these things and it started to make me mad. Later I find out AFTER YOU BEAT THE GAME after wasting my time looking for secrets you can play all the levels again WITH A HEALTH BAR AND A POINTS SYSTEM. The secret objects give you a lot of extra points and all the red orbs gain you points as well and the better your combos the more points you get on top of that and at the end of each stage you get a letter grade! WTCRAP This changes everything. The game could have reminded me of a devil may cry finish after each stage but instead they make your entire first play through pointless and keep you in the dark about why your searching for hidden objects, what the orbs mean and give you no reward for completing a stage. It boggles my mind why they chose to do it this way but had the game begun with a health-bar, showed me my points and showed my combo streak then the game would have had a generally better feel and I could have appreciated it a lot more. It is a quick play-through though so if you don't mind the repetition go ahead and rent it.
