This game is beautiful. The graphics of this game are stunning when it 1st appeared in Dreamcast almost 6-5 years ago. Why didn’t I just give this game a 10, because of the storyline… its cheesy but how they made the game play makes you for get how cheesy the storyline really is… But the levels and the way they make you feel! It’s amazing. They try to make the player have an eerie feel almost like your lost in the game all mysterious and junk pretty flipen sweet. Yet yes the storyline is cheesy and yes some levels are hard might make you frustrated but I really like challenges ;)

Frustrating and difficult

Ecco the Dolphin will have you chasing your tail most of the game. The levels require extensive exploration to find your objective. But if you're looking for a game to play into the wee hours of the morning look no further.

Hopes = Sunk

Ecco the Dolphin has been a challenging game since it debut for the Genesis many years ago. So I knew that gameplay was bound to be a hurdle from the get go. Stunning graphics hook you immediately, and the hopes of a great storyline reel you in. Then you start playing.
Tricky controls, and camera movements are as expected extremely frustrating until you practice for a little bit. However, after completing a few small tasks, and messing around on some cute mini-games, it becomes very evident that the story of this game is so lame! Without any real purpose, or guidance on how to complete important tasks, the goal of completion becomes extinct, and just swimming around fighting sharks seems more fun. After spending about 4 hours swimming, jumping, and dancing at the surface of the water with my tail, boredom sets in. Needless to say, my hopes of a great storyline to accompany the great layout sunk to the watery depths. Maybe with some more patience I could try this game again, but for now I'm still feeling a bit waterlogged.
