Good for Gundam fans, others not so much.

I played the demo of this off of Xbox Live and figured I'd give the full version a try. I'm really only a fan of the Gundam Wing series and enjoyed playing as Heero Yuy for the first few missions, but the gameplay gets very repetitive after a while and some of the maps are rather confusing. Victory conditions aren't always very easy on you either, and bosses can be very difficult to defeat all by yourself without going out and recharging your SP or picking up items to replenish it and your armor.
The combo system mostly consists of only three buttons and it's generally all melee attacks. Your ranged attacks are very weak and useless unless they are the Special Attacks. Special Attacks take SP, which is easy to charge against normal enemy mobile suits, but if you're up against a boss mobile suit such as Zechs Marquise's Epyon, good luck trying to charge that SP. It's next to impossible on a boss. You have to resort to all melee attacks, good dodging and timing with blocking, or running away to find an item or kill some Zaku, Aries, what have you to recharge that and get your edge back in a battle.
The maps are generic and plain, and like mentioned before, confusing at times. You can be running one direction trying to get to another field, only to find that it's blocked and incapable of being accessed in that direction. You otherwise would have no idea that it's blocked until you actually go to that point. So it can be very time consuming to move around a map and get to an area that needs immediate action and help, especially if you have to go there in a roundabout direction due to a block.
That said, the game is still fun for a real fan of the Gundam series. There's quite a few familiar faces to choose from, plenty of mobile suits, and some customization of your person Gundam. You level up gain skills, equip skills and parts to your Gundam and then it's off to battle again. Worth a try if you like the series.
