They finally got it right I been playing these Dynasty Warriors game since Dynasty Warriors 2 and including the Warriors Orochi and Gundam series. Since they ported it over the game essentially looked like the PS2 version with minimal graphic upgrades. DW8 should have been the the Dynasty Warriors showcased @ launch or at least by the time Warriors Orochi 2 came out.
This is for sure a good rent and a great buy for those hardcore fans! I wish that they bring back the body guards to the series, but as far as individual character improvement this game is King!

No longer is the clothing stiff and the secondary weapons in this game you actually want to use them. I'm still unlocking characters and have not played through with all the Kingdoms but so far so good.

-Secondary weapons are cool now
-Characters button mashing moves are seriously upgraded
-Koei has finally put in work in upgrading the landscape
-Improved fun factor
-Online co op play with other players
-RPG elements that can keep you playing for months
-77 Characters

-If you played one you played them all eventually it all gets stall
-Even though it is an upgrade from the rest this is still behind graphically than other next gen games

Conclusion: If it ain't broke don't fix it well this time they fixed alot! Eventhough there are always going to be reviewers who state that this is just "button mashing" this is the best Dynasty of button mashing of all time and this time they came the closest to getting it right.

Worth the rent for the young and old.

I mean i like the new combos and whatnot but idk it just feels like they've lost the excitement of the game. Probably should've stopped at Dynasty Warriors 7 in my opinion.

Finally done some justice

If you're like me and have been playing DW for some years now, The series has had some ups and a whole lot of downs. We've played them all(some, regrettably), and have had mixed feelings about them afterwards. DW 8 is one of those good ones I can add to the batch of really enjoyable DW Titles.

For a while Warriors Orochi 3 was my last stop with the DW series, because it just seemed like they weren't going to try and press the line a bit more after that one. Boy was I proven wrong, but in a very good way. First thing I noticed right off the bat after the game loaded, the was a "tutorial" option in the main menu. If that doesn't ring bells of "Something is different here.." In us long time DW fans, I don't know what will.

There's alot to DW8 that they did right, and some they did wrong that are(but are forgivable). It's in english, the visuals are majorly improved. Now your battlefield isn't just flat or hill-covered terrain with desert, grass, or gravel just to fill in the blanks. All the fields I've played so far are different in their own way.

The characters and their weapons have had a good overhaul. Some iconic characters and their weapons are much more visually grasping with sharp, clean colors, and awesome moves.
You're also able to take 2 weapons into battle, swapping them at with with the RB. The second weapon is like that of create-a-character in a previous DW title where it's another characters weapon. Have a favorite character but are using another one in story mode? Equip the weapon and bam! Zhou Yu can now secondary fight like Pang De.

The music is classic to DW but with a slightly more...Epic edge. The music really compliments the music now and pretty much every song grasps the moments in battle.

Story mode is quite lengthy, fun, and well done in my opinion. Cut scenes cross into gameplay, characters fight accordingly and Missions are really important this time around.

Overall DW is a strong rent, and a definite buy for dedicat

Ever played dynasty warriors in matrix slo-mo?

Would have gave it a 10 but the lag issues kill me. 1st off I would like to say that this is by far the best dynasty warriors game ever made. However the xbox 360 version has extremely bad lag issues. Everyone who's played it already already knows this but if you haven't yet then take a shot and rent before you buy and you'll know what the huge fuss is about. Works fine on the ps3 but on 360 it is so laggy it's almost unplayable.
