As the title says THIS is the rebirth of the dynasty warriors series. I havent liked playing a dynasty warriors since number 2 was released but this one changed all that. While retaining the key game components they added small things like climable ladders and being able to hop off ledges and slide on the walls. The combos are now MUCH much better and they string better too. the moves look cooler and actually are usefull this time around and the outfits are decent as well. The weapon system is back to the 3 good weapons 4th godly weapon but its randomly given when killing people or for reaching certain requirements and each of the 4 different types has different attributes to it and different amounts of damage. The levels this time around are much improved from the giant flat battlefields and now have more epth and foilage such as trees and stuff and alot of different elevations with cliffs add depth. The one thing though that really just makes this soooooo much better of an experience this time around is LuBu. The past few games lubu who is like the sephiroth of dynasty warriors has been cast in the shadows a bit. slowly degrading his attack power and outifts and weapons and in the last game even his voide had changed making him sound nothing like his character should. This game the dovelopers did something great... they made him into a GOD. he now appears to be unbeateble with his two double ended spears which attach to make a crowbar type four way spear weapon. his outift is INCREDIBLE this time around being red and black making him look so much more deadly. His attacks and combos are rediculous and he easily has the highest damage count of any character. They changed his voice back to the old lubu which is a godsend and he now is always glowing red with flames and a lightning aura at all times. when faced ingame he is almost unbeateable except by a max level character. aside from that the game keeps most of its key elements and the good points have stayed.
