It's Dynasty Warriors as usual... that's the problem and the reason I gave this game a 5. I became a fan of the series way back with Dynasty Warriors 2 on PS2. I had hoped that this game would be that much better on a more powerful system. I was sadly disappointed. There are absolutely no improvements in this version. Actually I've noticed a few steps backwards. The character I used had no ranged attacks (arrows), unlike before. One of the most annoying shortcomings is the fact that it is WAY too easy to lose sight of your target. If you're a fan of the series you really aren't missing anything by passing this one up.
I think that this game was the worst choice I could have chosen to rent, I would honestly prefer to rent ANY other game then this one.
Pros: Fun game, multiple character choices to start off with, you do not need to have played the first 5 to play the actual game
Cons: (if only I could rant about every single little detail that annoyed me but there isn't enough character space for it, here are the major ones) Characters appear out of thin air behind you and kill you, I would randomly fall on the ground when no one was around me, your allies just stands there looking at the enemy while you are getting attacked by 5 bosses, losing every mission because your team does not move toward the enemy and get killed, having next to no attacks so you revert to button-mashing Square over and over again, having to do multiple missions on a single stage and if you fail one you automatically lose, and MUCH MUCH more.
If not for the fact I love the Dynasty Warriors series this game would have gotten 1 but since it is a Dynasty Warriors game I gave it a 4.
My number one regret was renting this game instead of the hundreds of other PS3 titles.....
