1 out of 1 gamers (100%) found this review helpful

i played it for 5 minutes at it was awful. you cant see the machine what you do see is the ball moving around the board. so when it goes down you have no time to press the paddles which you can then watch the ball go right past up close. it sucks dont waste your time renting this game it will make you mad.

I set out on a positive mission. To play a game despite the reviews I read about it. I have tried countless Pinball sims on the PC, Consoles, and Handheld systems.

I fired it up and was at first impressed by the graphics that I was seeing on my DS. I did like the fact that just like a real pinball machine the programers made great use of the DS by making the Static screen of the DS the headboard of the pinball machine, which displayed the score and number of balls etc.. I did like the sound effects, and I did like the fact that it used the shoulder buttons for the flippers which seemed to respond dead on with my button presses.I also thought it was great use of the directional pad for bumping the machine to manipulate the ball.
As I said before the graphics impressed me as I saw the ball rolling on the table I marveled at how realistic it looked.
My hopes began to fade away once I got past my love affair with the graphics and control scheme and actual gameplay began to set in.
As I played the game while the ball was in play suddenly the camera view changed to a close up view of the ball. The problem with this is unlike a traditional pinball machine where you can see the entire field of play, you could only see a limited field and so you did not have much time before the ball was near your bottom flippers. What's worse I could not change this view unless I ended the game. Now for the worst part! I had 3 balls remaining, I was on a roll(pardon the pun) and was doing great, I survived Multi-ball and was keeping all balls in play. Suddenly the game ended. This happended not once but several times. My only guess was my dream was over and I had woken up?
My suggestion keep dreaming until a good pinball sim comes along.
