Up till this game, the only good Dragon Ball Z games were.....well, none!!!
This game takes the Wii's inovative style and capitalizes on it with over 100 hundred characters and many different modes to play or toy around with.
If you own a Wii, I would definitely, without a doubt, reccomend this game to you. Besides LOZ:Twilight Princess, this is just about the best game you can get for the Wii.

Happy Gaming!!!

I rented this game about 10 days ago, and I have been hooked ever since. Now that I've gotten most of the game unlocked and, much to my surprise, actually enjoyed most of it (I usually hate unlocking everything) I feel like it is time to write up my review.

I agree with some who have said the game is difficult to learn, and even more difficult to master, but for me that made things all the more satisfying. Though sometimes the controls are just plain unintuitive.

An example being the way the game is designed to handle special attacks, such as the Kamehameha. If you try to pull off two specials in rapid succession, sometimes the game will just leave you standing there, not executing your attack. Which can be confusing enough that you remain motionless while your enemy comes and smashes you in the face.

I'm guessing that they rigged the controls this way to prevent you from totally destroying an opponent without having to land a single punch. I don't much mind that really, but it would have been nice to get some kind of symbol or something to indicate when you are unable to use special moves, but beyond that, the sometimes cinematic feel you get when executing specials mostly add an immersive feeling to matches. Yes, some will be a bit momentum breaking, but others really feel like they ripped the camera angles, facial expressions, etc. right out of the anime.

The 120 characters feel great and individualized so when you take Sin Shenron against, I don't know, Mr. Satan, unless Shenron's player is brain-dead chances are that Mr. Satan is going to lose, badly. Even when using Great Sayaman, it's not just putting on a different costume, Gohan's special moves, and regular fighting style change appropriately to reflect the new "Character".

I'm also a big fan of the way they handle the BIG characters, such as the Giant Ape form of Sayans. Unless you are SS3 Goku, or another outrageously powerful character, a majority of your attacks wont even make the Apes flinch.

this game is quite possibly the best DBZ title i've ever seen. the graphics are an improvement, but the gameplay is fantastic on the wii! the game is so adictive that every time i play a game similar in gameplay, (such as superman returns for the xbox 360) i keep waving my controller when ever i want to dash forward. the story isn't that great, though. it's just the same story about goku and his friends fighting bad guys like buu and cell, but the up- side is that there were so many extra story lines. sure you have cooler and garlick jr. , but people like lord slug and harudegarn!? i've never even heard of them at all!!!!! a flaw in the story mode is that there are no dragon ball storylines. some of the storys are a bit inacurate, though. in the android saga, for example, when trunks comes back in time, there's no king cold. it just sais friza came back to earth, and when he warns goku of the androids, he does not mention the heart virus that goku gets. also there are three scecret what-if storylines unlocked by meeting goals in certain chapters. the character roster is amazing. they say that there are more that 100+ characters to chooose from, but some of them are just transformations. there are dragon ball characters, but only a few. you can unlock kid goku, but also grandpa gohan and master roshi full power. also there are dragon ball gt characters like baby and pan. remember that anoying system where you had to equip custom characters with moves? well that's gone forever!!!!! now all you do is equip them with power-ups that give more power to there heath and moves. and what else? if your wii has an internet conection, you can download other people's custom characters from the internet via a coad given to all custom characters.

if you love dragon ball z or are just starting to get into it, you'll love this game. i'm not even a big DBZ fan, but i still love this game, so i give this game a 9/10. it would have a ten if not for the lack of dragon ball sory lines.
