First of all the controllers, horrific. The buttons make absolutely no sense, but what's you choose your configuration it'll get better, but still bad controllers.
Next, the story... WTF were they thinking they completely botched the story in every way possible. There's no drama, no excitement, just get in there and fight even though it makes no sense. I just skipped every cut scene.
Characters, nothing special. Same o' same o'.
Fighting: now this what I like the most, it's pretty fast pace and I like the open field fighting. It's not like playing takken, so I enjoyed it because it felt realistic with DBZ.
Overall: this is game will get you pissed for the most part, but if you're a fan you'll play though it because there's a lot of fighting and the fighting is fun here. Just ignore everything else and you'll be okay.

This game doesn't compare to the older Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3. I am extremely disappointed the little touches in the older game gave it class like combining light and heavy attacks and the little screen shots of the world being blown to bits or the power soaring right into space. Again don't rent or buy! VERRY UPSETTING! I bragged about dragon ball z being the best fighting games out there. Now I might have to take it back.
