Just too repetitive

I've played every Dragon Ball game going from ps2 to ps3 and every game had something to bring to the table. By the time I decided to give this game a chance I saw the reviews were pretty harsh but I decided Id give it a try.
For one, this game is just too repetitive. Over and over you use different characters but for no purpose but to beat the mode. At first it was cool because the fighting is a bit tweaked from the first raging blast but considering that after you beat one characters mode, another unlocks, making there be at least 70 for each character. So that is a lot of repetitive and considering there is not even a storyline, you're just fighting for no reason.
I consider myself a hardcore Dragon ball fan but even I couldnt stomach doing the same thing over and over for hours. I wouldn't reccomend playing, the first raging blast was better by far and they should've stopped there.
