Excellent

Fantastic Game

This was one of the best games I have played in a long time. I just finished my first run-through in about 60 hours and cannot wait to play it again, and I almost never replay games. The graphics were good, but not great, but the dialogue and story were fantastic. Combat was good, although at times it can be frustrating, and it was pretty easy to pick up the basics while making new powers available as the game went on to keep things fresh. I played it on hard, and found it challenging while not being ridiculous. After some practice, it is pretty cool watching your team working in unison to quickly take down enemies.

The different characters in your party all have unique and interesting backgrounds that you will want to spend a good deal of time discussing with them. You also get benefits from having your party members like you so its a good idea to take the time to talk to all them. There is also a pretty good range of different quality weapons and armor to find or buy throughout the game. And you never have to repair it (I personally hate having to worry about fixing or repairing weapons/armor in games).

The story was not particularly innovative and was somewhat typical of this genre, but the game did a good job of making your personal backstory at least somewhat meaningful to the plot. There were unique twists and every story is different, at least in some respects. Most decisions are not as simple as good/evil. Also, I felt the game did a great job of making the main plot/quests take up a good chunk of the time, while still having plenty of sidequests.

Overall, this was an excellent game. Not perfect, but better than any recent rpg Ive played. I give it a 9, but I cant think of a whole lot of games Ive had more fun playing.

this is literally the best game i have ever played. you need to put this game and assassin's creed 2 on your list emediately. you start out the game making your hero. you choose male or female first, which doesn't affect anything but your looks. then you choose if you want to be a warrior, mage, or rogue. this will affect what skills and techniques you can learn throughout the game. then a backround for the character. you play through a special beggining specific to your character, then embark on your campaign. you must gather a squad to travel around the world to build an army. you must stop the darkspawn, basically an army of orces and such that want to kill everyone. you have to muster the power of all the good creatures and fight them back. changing squads and tons of battles, along with hundreds of different types of quests keep you on your toes. collectable armor and weapons make you actually want to search bodies and save money. if you do just some of the side missions off the main plt this game will keep you entertained for dozens of hours. i am not even half way done and i have invested 20 hours. but this isn't a game that just drags on, your going to wish it never ends. i give this game a ten out of ten for exellant graphics, intense gameplay, and exellant plot.

I loved playing through this game and will likely will replay it several times using different characters to get story perspective from different angle. Overall the story is deep and defiantly for mature audience. My son quickly lot interest however I did not let go of the controller until I beat it. Game has many hours of side content and based on your choices from the very beginning. Some quests, allies, and enemies will be present or absent based on your actions in game, this creates atmosphere of deep storytelling and encourages replay to see another side of things.

This game is clearly positioned to have decent amount of DLC to come out in the future and expand on the loose ends in the story. I will likely use “keep it” feature of GameFly to own this game. Definitely a must for any RPG fan.
