I think I've played this game about 20 times, easily. Only the Dragon Age games and Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning have this sort of staying power for me. Every time I play, I can decide to be a rogue, mage or fighter, so the game changes.
The relationships that you can build with your followers makes my female heart so very happy! I just wish we'd at least get to see the male characters shirtless, if not in their underwear, like the female characters. Sometimes, I romance Fenris, sometimes Anders and sometimes Isabella. You can romance Merrill, too, but that's not nearly as fun.

Don't get discouraged by some of the low ratings critics have given this one--it's a great game.
I liked the first Dragon Age, but it was a little "too PC" for my liking. The second Dragon Age carried over most of the things that were good about the first one, but streamlined it into more of a "Mass Effect" type of experience vs. a clunky ancient PC RPG experience.
It's significantly shorter than the first game, or at least it seemed that way.
Hands down one of the best games I've ever played. The storyline is compelling and intriguing. It doesn't matter if you're playing the game for narrative or action. You'll love this game. For the fantasy fans, it has a great feel of Lord of the Rings, Dungeons & Dragons and Fable all rolled into one. Great job Bioware!
