The game was ok it wasnt a great game like everyone kept saying. There are like ten different types of monsters for the whole game, the same caves are used over and over again and after awhile the story just kinda bored me. A positive thing I can say about the game is the choices and decisions part was pretty entertaining. I had way more hope for this game.

Very Good

Good action RPG gets more personal, less epic

"Dragon Age: Origins" is one epic RPG, with an overall massive quest to recruit allies in the fight against the Blight that is afflicting the land of Ferelden. There were multiple races to choose from to create your own character, a good story with terrific voice acting, and hours and hours of playtime. So does its sequel "Dragon Age II" measure up? Well, yes and no. this time around you're limited to being a human, though you can choose male or female, and between warrior, rogue, and mage. Each gives the playthrough a different feel, giving the game some replayability, though not as much as DA:O. Your character this time is named Hawke, and is fully voiced. Combat has been streamlined, making it more action based. Gone is the list of conversation options, now replaced with a wheel similar to that in "Mass Effect 2". Colored icons aid in the decision as to what responses to make, though you can choose to play however you wish. Sadly, the font has been changed to a smaller size (Why do they do this?) and is more plain than the text in DA:O. Your quest this time is limited to the town of Kirkwall and the surrounding area, so you'll see the same environments over and over during the 30+ hour campaign. The characters are well voiced and likeable, though none is quite on the level as Alistair and Morrigan from the first game. The inventory and leveling system has also been simplified, though you can still micromange is that is your wish. This is more of a companion piece to DA:O than a sequel, even though it takes place after the timeline in the first game. Your saves from DA:O are carried over, making it a more personal experience. It's worth the purchase price, since you get plenty of gameplay for your buck. A good RPG overall, even if it's not as epic as the first game. Fans should enjoy this!

Infinitely disappointing. Mind numbingly repetitive and boring. They removed all the things that were great from Dragon Age Origins. I can't manage my companions equipment or give them gifts. I have no real objective. The environments are regurgitated over and over. The combat is not challenging. Can I get out of Kirkwall and travel somewhere other than the coast! I've gotten 60 hours in to this and tried to force myself to finish it, but I can't take anymore.
