wow this game is awesome. the mages set abilities are well thoght out . i like that i can make a girl mage a total elemental power house . the only bad side to this for me is ,that they only let you chose between three different classes .

Unpopular opinion: Loved this game

I realize this is a fairly unpopular opinion, but I absolutely loved this game. I actually even enjoyed it a bit more than Dragon Age: Origins!

One measure I use to define truly great stories in any genre (books, movies, games) is if I find myself thinking about it after completion. A measure of impact. Dragon Age 2's plot and characters were extremely impactful, and I found myself thinking about the events of the game quite a bit after completion. The gameplay was extremely fun and engaging as well. The conversation system made me feel like my own personality could be adopted by my character. The battles were wildly entertaining and abilities/attacks felt satisfying with fantastic animations.

On the flip-side, I do agree with some of the negatives I've read. Reused environments and maps eventually became difficult to ignore, although the "Legacy" DLC was a great step in the right direction. I was also disappointed that I couldn't still explore at the conclusion of the game. I know it doesn't make sense story-wise, but it would have been fun to have some post-completion character-maxing available (battle arenas or difficult secret/bonus dungeons have been popular in console RPGs). Regardless, I felt these complaints were minor compared to the game's impact and fun factor.

Overall, the user experience combined with such an emotionally evocative story was essentially a "perfect storm" for me. I am anxiously awaiting Dragon Age 3.
