The guy that rated this game a 3 is crazy, This game is a blast! And the fact that it isn't just a clone of the original Dragon's Lair is what's great about it, it's an updated worthy sequel! Better than the original? Hmmm, tough one, and too close to say. This game has a totally different and modern gameplay style. It controls more like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (a BIG plus for fans of GTA - and it's much less complicated to control than the original with more freedom of movement - you don't feel like you're locked in a cartoon only being able to move the way the game tells you, like in it's predecessor). The only downfall is the camera, sometimes the way it moves can screw you up, but only in very few situations (actually, only two, maybe three come to mind). This game is a great sequel! Hopefully the makers of this game will release the original Dragon's Lair too, that way I can add it to my collection... along with this one, which HAS made it into my collection. I highly recommend it!
Dragon's Lair 3D is a more tollerable version of the reflex arcade release. Rather than being a game of reactions to situations, you actually get to control your character and do all the fighting yourself.
But, this still doesn't make the game all that great. The controls are still rather unresponsive and unless you jump just perfectly, you'll often find yourself falling down gaps and dying.
It's better, but still not so good. Keep trying, Dragon's Lair...You'll get it right eventually.
The game was nothing like the original arcade game. The camera angles sometimes got me killed due to inappropriate swing directions. Felt very bland going room to room. Enemies were absolutely predictable. Soooooooo repetitive... over and over and over and over.
