I can only recommend this game to people who have lots of time to spend wandering around the game world and managing their inventory. This isn't a simple 'point A to point B' game. You leave a town and you're on your own. After wandering around for 10 or 15 minutes you may be killed by a boulder falling from off-screen and have your progress reset. It was at that point I turned the 360 off and returned the game.
The story's kind of lame, there was really no character development in the few hours I spent playing Dragon's Dogma. So don't expect any drama. Graphics are okay. There's a lot of screen tearing and two black bars you can't get rid of even though you're playing on an HDTV. Another annoying quirk of the game is how your companions will constantly repeat themselves during exploration.
Overall I'd say this is like a cross between Dragon Age and Monster Hunter, both great games. However this is not a great game. A decent rental and nothing more.
Refreshing ideas and fun gameplay make this a pretty good title. The story is terrible and the "Ye aught not enter thine fortress!" dialoge annoys me. Overall fun game, that will get old after you dominate whatever classes you enjoy in game.
The game is pretty cool. The enemies are interesting. But the gameplay is a little too much for the Xbox360. There is just too much going on and on top of that there is alot of dialog windows and other stuff like that taking up the screen. on top of that the whole inventory system is kind of too much. Its almost like its a PC game. It reminded me of the inventory and buying/selling in Diablo 3.
This game is alright though. I bet it would be better actually on PC. hahaha
