The game was actually really fun with the combat being very in depth and a blast. The pawns are a great addition into the game with the alternating vocations (classes) that allow you to change your character and your main pawn. The large issue that i had with this game was the problem with no fast travel or anything to aid in traveling other than a very expensive item in the game that allowed you to teleport back to the capital city. At first I didnt think it would be an issue but with the early quests you dont have to travel far but once you do it becomes very annoying and time intensive just to run back.
Want to be a dragon slayer? This game nails it. The game encourages exploration in a world that at times feels large (mostly because there is almost no quick-travel) but is quite manageable.
It is a fun action RPG that makes it fun to 'grind' because the enemies you face are so fun to spar with. And there are definitely enemies that pop up in the open world that are far beyond your current capabilities to defeat. This keeps you on your toes and gives you that desire to level up a bit more, just to see if you are "there yet."
There is no multiplayer, but there are 2 really cool key aspects that involve the world. The bigger of these is the 'Pawn' system. Every player creates their own personal pawn as a permanent party member. The other 2 of the 4 allowed will be borrowed from the internet. This allows you to choose your team and their complimentary abilities to suit your style.
The other key multiplayer element is related to a dragon which can be fought. I won't get into details, but it is a blast!
It has a few elements that detract from the fun, but overall its a great game that is not too big, not too small, and a good time.
