Best way to introduce video games to your child

I have a 5 year old and Dora the Explorer Purple Planet is almost the only game she can play, enjoy, and not get frustrated with! I own the first Dora from Playstation 1 and this is very similar but with MUCH improved graphics and depth. I wish more software companies employed these strategies in making their games. I give it a 10 based on ease of use. No matter how young your child, this game will keep them entertained and not losing a life in the game every 5 seconds! They will actually have independence and enjoy playing this game on their own and not have to play it with you to help them through it on every level. It will build coordination with the game pad and reflexes to prepare them for more difficult titles! Excellent Game!

Finally, age appropriate game play.

This game is perfect for the under 4 crowd. One of the biggest problems with video games right now is that there are very few age appropriate games for very young children. My two year old has been playing games like Pac-Man and Rally-X for 6 or seven months, but has been left out of any new games because the game play was far too complex, and the cut scenes were far too long. Notice I did not say 'Game Content'. There is plenty of content for 2 year olds, but a 5 minute intro that you cannot bypass, or having to start over because you pushed a wrong button makes them fail.

This game is not on rails, and you cannot 'die'. A perfect example is when Dora needs to jump on turtles to get across a lake, she just waves her arms and catches her balance if the players timing is off. This allows for a challenge, without the frustration of starting over every time you do it wrong.

If you are over 4, move along, this game is not for you.

Dora's purple planet of fun

It's simple, fun and entertainment for any kid from 4or5 to about 10. Entry level game. Advanced gamer playing kids might be board, but my noobie kids love it.
