My son, who is 3 did very well with this game. The best part is that you can't die, you can't get really far off the game path, and despite a few frustrating places, daddy had fun helping out during those areas. We completed the whole game in about an afternoon, and i figured he would not need to play again, but he was rearing to play it again! The 3-d to 2-d cel shading was surprisingly decent. Would have been a 10 except for a couple of bugs and typical camera and path problems that exist in just about any game. Also be careful during the cut scenes because kids and grown-ups can press the action button too easily and completely skip entire story lines, which hindered only in a couple places. Other than that it's a very Good Kids Game!

Perfect

Age appropriate game play

This game is perfect for the under 4 crowd. One of the biggest problems with video games right now is that there are very few age appropriate games for very young children. My two year old has been playing games like Pac-Man and Rally-X for 6 or seven months, but has been left out of any new games because the game play was far too complex, and the cut scenes were far too long. Notice I did not say 'Game Content'. There is plenty of content for 2 year olds, but a 5 minute intro that you cannot bypass, or having to start over because you pushed a wrong button makes them fail.

This game is not on rails, and you cannot 'die'. A perfect example is when Dora needs to jump on turtles to get across a lake, she just waves her arms and catches her balance if the players timing is off. This allows for a challenge, without the frustration of starting over every time you do it wrong.

If you are over 4, move along, this game is not for you.

Excellent learning game for 4-6

I personally rented this game for my daughter because she loves Dora and she loved this game. It was easy enough for her to follow as she is just learning how to read and understand problem solving the only draw back I saw was that the game did not incorporate the spanish teachings as it does in the cartoon which my daughter likes as well. All in All it was a very good game for her when she does not play any video games.
