I love this game. I am taken back to the old days when I played the original on the SNES system. The graphics are obviously very cartoonish which is perfect for this kind of game. The difficulty level is perfect for both the fan and casual player alike. I am liking this game so much that I may just keep it and buy it, but I am not 100% on this yet!
My daughter even loves it, she usually gives up on games she can't do well on immediately but this has even caught her attention as well. Great family game, my parents even liked it and they are in their 70's. If you are wondering whether or not to rent it DO IT!
I WAS a big fan of DK until now........ this game was nothing like the original DK, the music was, but that's about it. Different style of gameplay and the addition of a heath bar angered me. It's too easy to die and killing enemies isn't like it used to be. Funny faces when you jump on enemies have been replaced by.....well......nothing. To be fair, the game has good graphics...... it just didn't feel original Would I recommend this game to anyone? sure, but only if you rent it. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GAME. Thank You Gamefly! If it wasn't for your service I might have spent $50 on a disappointment.
This is a very well done game, to say the least. It's got a nice difficulty setting, beautiful graphics and fun collectibles. Now, that being said, I'm wondering what happened to the days of Super Mario Bros. Back when games were challenging, so frustrating you'd break a controller, yet be so horribly addictive that you can't seem to put it down. Now days, you've things that say "Oh, it's too hard for you? Here, walk through it by pressing a button."It kind of makes me worry about the direction gaming is going, but that's neither here or there. Game's fun, and the ability do have the computer walk through the level if it's too hard makes it accessible to most anyone save the true gamer. Kids will enjoy the bright, beautiful art direction and the easy of the first few levels. Adults will enjoy not having to shell out $40 for a new controller 'cause someone lost control and broke theirs. All in all, worth renting, not buying.
