I got this for my five year old who LOVES the princesses. I thought she'd love it, but since there was quite a few directions that come up that require reading, Mom and Dad always had to be on hand to read them. She quickly became agitated with having to ask for help and that lead to boredom. She played the game maybe a total of 30 minutes in one day, if that, and then it went back into it's sleeve and back to Game Fly. Thank heavens we had only rented it, it would have been a waste! Thanks Game Fly! I guess the bottom line is, if your kiddo is not upto reading and won't just "play" to figure it out, this game would be better kept until they can read.
The only reason I played this game was because I like Ariel, but it was so lame I didn't even get to her part. Plenty of repetitive, tedious, backtracking things to do in this game. Like helping everyone in town just to get one of your questions answered. This game requires reading skills, and I imagine by the time kids learn to read they'll have grown out of this game.
