Disney Friends is a very high quality game... great graphics, awesome sound, and generally good production values. Essentially, it's a pet sim like Nintendogs or the Petz series, except the player is given the task of taking care of Disney characters. There are four characters available in the game (the tiny green alien from Toy Story in the tutorial aside): Stitch, Dory, Winnie the Pooh, and Simba. Each of these characters has different related items, minigames, and environments.
Kids who love Disney and virtual pet games will love this game, adults are just going to be bored to tears even if they are hardcore Disney fans. The minigames are less games than they are activities like drawing pictures on the touch screen or placing blocks around so that Stitch can knock them over. Nothing in the game is challenging to anyone over age 8 and the activities will likely best appeal to the younger crowd. (Got a kid who loves drawing pictures on the touch screen?) The game is also designed for about 15 minutes or so of play per day and includes special events on specific days of the week.
Disney friends is a really excellent game as far as games designed for kids go. The animation of the characters and the voice quips are adorable. There are many items to collect and unlock. However, those who are looking for something that is more of a game than I series of simple activities and watching Disney characters act cute won't find much here.
