-Killings are brutal and satisfying to the player.
-Movement and the controls are fairly tight.
-The story is interesting and better than most games.
-The abilities of your powers are awesome from teleporting to possession of animals or humans to straight up Jedi force pushing.
-The free roam aspect of the game gives you more creative control in how you execute each mission. Having many alternate routes in most situations even indoors.
Moving bodies around and hiding them, gives a little nostalgia of playing Solid Snake.
-The game can have a great length to it if you decide to be non-lethal/ghost and investigate around every map looking for notes, books, items etc.. Giving you easily more than an hour per mission.
-The game will ultimately make you suffer for going non-leathal by the fact that there are more useful items and powers for people who want to run a muck and murder everyone. And not giving you as many upgrades to stealth.
-Sometimes the power 'Blink' can be clunky when trying to climb a ledge showing the signal that you will climb up when used then disappear just as you use it sometimes dropping you to the ground alerting guards.
-If you don't save often, consider getting caught and into fights a lot. Or replaying a lot of content because you want to perfectly knockout and ghost everyone.
-If you do lethal side, yea its fun and appealing. But you can totally blow through the game like nothing with the sheer amount of ammo you can get from the guards, one fight to the next ruining everything.
As for Corvo he an awesome antagonist but lacking the same thing Issac Clarke did in the first Dead Space. He doesn't talk! He just listens and mindlessly does what he's told without question. Giving no connection or personality.
Definitely rent it! Even with my elongated downsides Dishonored is a solid game and a worth playing title. Maybe even a couple play-throughs
The graphics are so-so, the characters forgettable, the story is a mix of cliches hashed up once more; the gameplay suffers from bad control scheme, bad AI and lack of immersion (every load screen takes forever and then requires you to click A to get back into the story).
I really wanted to like this game, but there's no tension or story here.
Dishonored is a great game with an intriguing atmosphere and a excellent story. It brings a bit of a challenge but thats the best part of it. There is a great variety of ways on how to subdue your targets as well. It is definitely worth the buy or the rent.
