Dishonored is a First-Person adventure where you play as Corso, the Empress' equivilent to head of security when a dastardly plot has you trying to clear your name. There is a plague ravaging the land turning people into walking zombies and packs of rats that want to eat you.
You can either play through the game slicing and dicing your way to the end but this will cause a darker outcome with more rats and more plague. Or you can sneak through the game minimizing kills as much as possible for a brighter outcome and less plague.
The supernatural powers you can upgrade are varied and fun to use, and usually you need to use strategy to traverse the map, taking out guards in any order you choose as well as plenty of loot to find laying around.
The only bad things about the game for me are the lack of statistics of current amount of kills and alerts instead of only showing you at the end of the level and then having to restart if you're going for the no kills achievement, and the blink ability. This lets you transport across rooftops, behind enemies, etc. with a blue orb showing you where you're going to go that turns into some up arrows when you will climb up the ledge you're pointing at. The problem being that the ledge climbing is very important and if you're not at the right angle, the arrows don't appear and a seemingly close ledge that you can climb on is impossible unless you find something else to climb on first to improve your sight line on the ledge. Besides that, this is a very engaging game that will have you staying up late to see what happens next.

Good but frustrating at times

This was a great game. The graphics are cool and the gameplay is amazing. The way I played was on hard which is the second hardest difficulty. It really gives you the full experience on this stealth action game. In this game I got confused at parts and some I just couldn't get past, but I overcame them and in the end, I was glad I rented this amazing game

Send it back after 3 or 4 days

I truly had high hopes for this game. I did.

If you send it back after 3 or 4 days it might be worth getting. The graphics are poor at best even for the Xbox. The acting is terrible and the boat rides at the beginning are insanely boring. The combat is bloody and gory which is the only reason I gave this game a 3 not a 1. During the intro sequence I had to restart because I ran to far ahead of an NPC who said "Lets go see ______" . The cut scene started before she got there and a few minutes later I had to restart. What an awesome way to start out what I had hoped would be a great game. When I finally got through the scene of the character's dishonor I was less than impressed with the game and it's story that we have all heard a 1000 times. After playing for a couple hours I shut my Xbox off for the night wishing already I had gotten something else. I decided to give the game another chance hoping maybe it was just starting slow. I fire up the game, choose load, and there's nothing there. Really? I thought the game was auto saving. It sure seemed like it with all the stuttering it was causing during the game. So I go online only to find out the game is only uploading my stats to the leaderboard not saving my game. What? Really? Who cares about that? My game was repeatedly stuttering with terrible FPS so my stats could get uploaded to a leaderboard I never knew existed. What a joke. Bethesda and everyone involved in the making of this game should be ashamed that they didn't fix the issues it has or bother explaining what was really going on during the autosave.
