Dishonored is a First-Person adventure where you play as Corso, the Empress' equivilent to head of security when a dastardly plot has you trying to clear your name. There is a plague ravaging the land turning people into walking zombies and packs of rats that want to eat you.
You can either play through the game slicing and dicing your way to the end but this will cause a darker outcome with more rats and more plague. Or you can sneak through the game minimizing kills as much as possible for a brighter outcome and less plague.
The supernatural powers you can upgrade are varied and fun to use, and usually you need to use strategy to traverse the map, taking out guards in any order you choose as well as plenty of loot to find laying around.
The only bad things about the game for me are the lack of statistics of current amount of kills and alerts instead of only showing you at the end of the level and then having to restart if you're going for the no kills achievement, and the blink ability. This lets you transport across rooftops, behind enemies, etc. with a blue orb showing you where you're going to go that turns into some up arrows when you will climb up the ledge you're pointing at. The problem being that the ledge climbing is very important and if you're not at the right angle, the arrows don't appear and a seemingly close ledge that you can climb on is impossible unless you find something else to climb on first to improve your sight line on the ledge. Besides that, this is a very engaging game that will have you staying up late to see what happens next.
