Good, but not mind blowing

Do not get me wrong, there are some aspects to this game that are amazing. However, they are overshadowed by the parts that bog you down.
The story is classic. A queen murdered as a result of a plot, and you are pinned with the crime. Luckily, you are given the chance to clear your name and take your revenge. You are given weapons and powers to accomplish this goal. The setting looks amazing, and the controls work superbly.
The main problem that I had with this, was the overwhelming feeling of Assassin's Creed. Yes there are definitive differences, like the powers for example, but the overall feel of the two main options of how to approach everything (a: be stealthy or b: head on attack and kill everyone) is just so reminiscent of AC. The only part of it that didn't remind me of AC, was that most of the playable areas are very linear. There's really no exploration factor to most of it. Yes there is the occasional looking for corners to find hearts and everything. But it is not the same as having a free area. It's a shame since it looks like such an interesting place to hide easter eggs.
The other part for me that really made the game less incredible than most was that, depending on which style you chose, the powers and techniques you would really use are actually limited. I found myself basically using blink and the mask's sight ability over and over. I had accessed all of the other ones, but they never really came in handy on the stealthy path.
One point that is not going to be very official, but what's up with them not selling any health potions? They sell mana, but why not health? It seemed a little odd.
Overall this is a decent game, but not as awesome as most people have made it out to be.
