This is the Land that Time Forgot - an island filled with dinosaurs that are out to kill anyone that happens to intrude on their territory.
Or is it Jurassic Park? The Land of the Lost? I can’t keep track.
But Dino Strike is the Game that Players Should Forget - it’s a last-gen rail shooter much like the ones you find at your local video arcade.
You know, the ones where you go along a specific path and shoot anything that pops into view. It’s like that - except you can have up to four guns (pistol, shotgun, machine gun, crossbow with explosive bolts), worse graphics and a run time of an hour.
I’ll say it again - you can beat this game in one hour (less if you skip the cheap cut-scenes). One reason why they want you to go back for another go is to meet requirements to unlock journal pages.
Such requirements are: beat a level, score a number of points or more, get an accuracy percentage above a certain requirement, and shoot every large egg you see on the level.
But there’s nothing tantalizing revealed in that journal - it’s just an average expedition that falls apart when the dinosaurs go on a rampage.
Second reason: you can play this game with up to four of your friends, but there’s no contest here; everyone shares one life bar, and the game will not declare anyone a winner after a level is complete.
And the third reason is you can use duel wield weapons and have different weapons in each hand. But the thrill of blasting dinosaurs with powerful weapons doesn’t last long - there’s not many types of enemies, and they all use the same tactic over and over again.
This game is rated T for Teen and older, but I think many gamers in that category will find this game a bore.
Dino Strike is another game that the makers (in this case, Zoo Games) slaps a $20 price tag on in hopes you won’t see what little fun you get for your money. SKIP IT.

I played this game with my 5 year old son and we beat the entire game in about 1 hour. The game is fun and easy enough to play with kids but sometimes it is too easy. I also think they should have included a wider variety of dinosaurs.
