rough around the edges, but very clever gameplay

Okay first of all, yes you can't delete saves, but I am disappointed at how a few of you are overreacting to this. The fact you can't start over doesn't make a difference since the game lets you revisit any of the levels, including the tutorial level. You are also still able to view the story scenes if you want. You can also view the power-ups unlocked in the collection screen. Long story short, if you rent the game, pick the highest stage that's available, and then complain that it's too hard and send it back, it's not the game's fault - you have a problem. For everyone else, Digging Strike might be worth a rent.
My thoughts? This might be extremely solid gameplay and level design, and it's amazing how deceptively well the new strategy elements mix with the classic gameplay not to mention how much they added to the classic-style Dig Dug levels with that much more size, complexity, and variety. The way this game disappointed me was with the shoddy qualities of its presentation and production polish, such as but not limited to: the game's utterly disappointing 3D elements, which look that much worse than its 2D graphics and sprites, and how the game isn't voiced even though the Mr. Driller games are voiced.
