Perfected, but bland

Devil May Cry 4 will certainly wow you with its visual presentation, but may bore you with its gameplay. While Devil May Cry fans will love DMC4, those who are new to the series might find themselves bored out of their minds.
Now, I'm not saying Devil May Cry 4 is bad. In fact, it's actually very enjoyable in terms of presentation. The graphics are amazing, action sequences flow smoothly, and the combat system works amazingly well. Everyone who plays will easily be able to pull off successful combo moves and tear up the battlefield. DMC4 truly perfects the beat-em-up gametype, and you'll find those opening missions enjoyable. but after a while, the game becomes more of the same, never really innovating. And while Nero may be a new character, him and Dante look a little too similar (I think we can do without white hair and the attitude for once, Capcom). Boss fights, too, are really more of the same.
While DMC4 will appeal to fans of the series, those who may be new to the series (this is the first multiplatform DMC) could find it repetitive. But since you're probably a gamefly member, give it a rent. It might grow stale, but it's definitely worth a little bit of your time.
