I played this game for about 6 or 7 hours, so maybe it gets better later but...
The plot was a semi coherent after thought that they begrudgingly put in the game to connect otherwise unrelated fights. The characters are unique from the previous DMC cast only in name, Dante even makes a cameo in the tutorial with the protagonist and they're lines, mannerisms, and abilities could have been completely interchanged and I doubt I would have noticed a difference.
The level design seems deep and interesting at first, as you navigate atmospheric Gothic castles and urban settings, but having you backtrack every area a few times in the game shows this game for what it really is, fan service at the lowest cost, corners were cut very deep for this game.
This game has some of the poorest design choices I have ever seen, precision jumping should only be used when the player has full control over the camera, having several fixed angles throughout a continuous jumping puzzle is beyond frustrating, and when the camera snaps to the wrong angle mid maneuver and you fail(and you will) you go back a room and have to fight a group of monsters again before you can retry the same awful puzzle. Maybe this is them trying to stay true the DMCs difficulty curve(Which was otherwise non existent), but it comes off as just annoying and contrived.
The combat is this games only redeeming value, and it is very satisfying once you get into the swing of it. Combos are fluid in the best kind of physics defying way and you can find all kinds of creative ways to extend combos and avoid being hit. My only gripe is that Nero's gun doesn't have the same rhythm as Ebony and Ivory, it shoots two bullets at a time, slowly, and feels like it has little impact.
i keep giving this game try but NEVER is good as the first one. they really need to calm down on over dramatic flips and i got it there girl there is like 10 year boy made some of these scenes and i couldnt even finshed this end sorry if im so mad i dont like good idea go waste.

Fun game. Kept to the DMC feel you want. The overall story is kind of short, and you are kind of trapped with whoever you need to be in a mission. Nero is fun, but his combos get boring. Dante is great, but dont get to play him as much, and have to wait till half way through. I wanted to tweak and max out everything, but there is not PSN trophies. Boo.
