I usually do not enjoy a FPS but this game has just the right amount of RPG for me to really like it. Though the sandbox world you explore is very small and somewhat linear it is full of hidden areas and you can decide to start causing havoc on a whim. The upgrade system is awesome and with some thinking you realize that you will not get enough points through the game to upgrade all of them so you have to decide which ones are important and how hard you want to work for your next. Plenty of side quests leave you lots of opportunity to gain experience or cash and sometimes you find useful information that can help you later, it's also worthy to note that these side quests really don't have to do with the main quests and that makes it easy to ignore them and not feel like your leaving out part of the story. The decision/consequences of the game are very deep. One decision can change the course of the entire game while others may just be a small turn. There are many ways to upgrade Adam (the protagonist) and depending on how you go he can be good at many different things. He can be super stealthy cyberborg ninja or Juggernaut death robot from your worst nightmare and everything inbetween. I gave this game an eight because it is a great game, the soundtrack flows very well and is just ambient enough not to distract you but add to the rush of energy you'll have when you are almost dying after an epic shootout with 10 enemies and a giant robot. I can't bring this rating up any more because the replay value just isn't there after a few plays. Once you've played through a few times you'll feel like the game is predictable and just another FPS/RPG. There is no multiplayer so once SP is done it's pretty much an open shut book. Def should check it out though I know you will not be disappointed and probably won't stop playing for hours.
when I started to play this I was like this game should be awesome then even after getting buffed up this guy dies really fast. 2 or 3 shots was like eh come on and the take downs are a joke. after not really enjoying a shot out with dying to just 2 or 3 bullets was getting annoying so I packed and shipped it out. didnt really enjoy this game much

I devoted a lot of time to this game and for the most part it was great. Good graphics and game play with many many different way to go about achieving you missions along with a story deep enough to drown in. The one fatal flaw is Deus Ex HR is incredibly buggy. A few of the bugs are helpful since you can milk them for extra money and experience. However late in the game you are sent into the Detroit convention center to confront a certain person there are 2 ways of handling it and one of them (which is also a trophy popper) can result in you becoming trapped inside the convention center building and trying to exit result in a never ending loading screen. To make matters the glitch taints your save data once it occurs making them unloadable. Which mean yer either gonna have to load a really old save and be set back several hours or if yer unlucky like me be forced to start the game over from the beginning.
That one bug aside I loved the game and any Deus Ex or cyber punk genre fan should definitely give the game a shot
