Good

Great Rental Game

First and foremost: If bad Jack Nicholson impressions and CONSTANT phallic references annoy you, stay away.

That being said, this game is a lot of fun. It's basically the GTA format of a semi-free roaming world with several missions for you to complete. The graphics leave something to be desired, but the gameplay itself is a blast!

The controls are little jarring at first, especially the use of the Wii-mote as your navigational direction. But after about twenty minutes, you're over it and frying humans left and right!

The missions range from insultingly easy to truly difficult, but usually do a great job testing your wits and teaching you how to utilize your weapons.

However after 4 days of semi-commited play, the game is over, there's nothing left to unlock, and the only thing left to do is, well... destroy all Humans you see! The constant "Willy" jokes get old fast, too, so not even the humor can sustain itself. Everything about it just becomes redundant.

I would recommend renting this game, but I would only recommend buying it if you REALLY need to unwind after rush hour traffic.

I have not play the first two installments of this series, and while I like the irreverent and self referential humor of the game, with quips like the following:

"Where did you think all the bodies that you are leaving behind went ?"

"I thought they just faded away after I went around the next corner"

The inadequacies of the controls and the camera just make it not worth playing. While the missions seem to be varied and well constructed, the fact that each is completely restarted and you have to make it to the mission start point just took the fun out of the game for me.

Some missions run like that:
Go to the mission start point, fast forward through the dialog.
Go to your UFO and mount. Play the mission, when you fail you have to park your UFO and go to the mission start point, rinse, repeat.

As some reviewer said, it is probably worth a rental but not from the top of your list.
