The gameplay is clunky and could have used a bit more programming. If this were a game most people had played before that would be bad, but this game is very unique.
You are the bad guy. You play as a witch (with sisters who give you challenges) who sets traps for the good guys coming to kill you inside your castle. The good guys move slow and methodically, which allows you to swiftly set-up ways to use the varying castle rooms to kill them.
It is fun and strangely challenging when you get over run with high health good guys and crummy rooms. The graphics and mechanics are not the best, but the gameplay and ideas are not like anything I've played before, which makes it an 8 in my opinion.
The story is ok, graphics could be a little better. The real fun comes from figuring out what kind of crazy combo of traps will kill the npc trying to get you. A bear trap with an arrow to the chest with a giant axe swinging at you knocking you through a pillar just to have organ pipes fall on you seems like a terrible way to go. But when it happens you'll just laugh.
Fans of the game series Deception will like this game. If it was just a little more different than the past games they would have loved it. You are pretty much getting a retro Deception experience right down to the non-creative dialogue on the PS3. This game is not likely to appeal to everybody and can be quite repetitive. It is definitely different and worth a rent if you want to try something different.
