I really had high hopes for this game. The writing is spectacular. The voice work is second to none (thanks to Nolan North). Let's get the bad out of the way. The major problem I had was the actual gameplay. The combat is clunky. I felt like the character was not doing what I told him to do. The time between the button press and the action on screen seemed to take forever. It seemed that they were trying to pull off the excellent combat system in the Batman Arkham games, but failed. Also, the shooting mechanics do not work at all. It was extremely difficult to aim. There is a snap to enemy function, but it didn't work very well. Also the level design was very bland. I felt like I was just running through halls, kill a wave of enemies, run through another hall, kill another wave of enemies, rinse and repeat.
Now for the good. Nolan North as Deadpool is so awesome. Everything he does is great. And let's not forget to mention the 4th wall break in this game. Deadpool knows he's in a video game. How cool is that?! The jokes throughout the game are laugh out loud funny. Definitely worth a playthough for that.
I think if the developer had more time to refine the combat and shooting mechanics, this would have been a more enjoyable game. I'm giving it a 6 due to the great writing and voicework. I hope they make a sequel, but take more time to refine the gameplay.
