First off I read all the reviews about bad graphics blah blah blah. I have a hd tv and my xbox is hooked up thru hdmi. The graphics are amazing, u can't compare graphics from a fishing game to a huge game like call of duty 4.

While playing YOU are the captain of the boat, not a deckhand! Game play is the same as watching the show, huge waves, hard to steer, its simple fishing folks, drive to ur spot, set pots wait pick up pots and sell crabs.

I am overall pretty satisfied with this game, I've watched every episode of the show. My only complaint is the game doesn't tell you how long the fishing season is until 24 hours prior to the close of the season. Then u must scurry to pick up 45 pots or else get fined by the game and fish comission. Also the seagulls that fly around the boat are annoying!

I haven't played anything on xbox live yet so I can't comment about that. I was satisfied with this game and I'm on my fourth crab season. With anything to do with game and fish, it takes patience there are no bad guys to blow up, or recon missions, no C.O.D type stuff. Simple fishing.

when it comes to a pure simulation based upon the crabbing industry on the Bering Sea. You’ll face up to 40 foot swells that can rock your boat, crew and possibly your entire virtual world if not handled properly. As the Captain, the boat and crew’s safety sits upon your shoulders alone. That responsibility sits above and beyond all your other responsibilities such as:finding the crab, meeting your quotas, keeping your crew’s morale up, etc. You can't collect the money if you don't make it back to port

the game ships with 5 actual real life crabbing boats. They are the Northwestern, Cornelia Marie, Sea Star, Bering Star and the Shellfish. Each one of the boats can be used in the game. You’ll also have at your disposal the USCG Mellon, a Coast Guard high endurance cutter. The USCG Mellon is a non player presence in your single player experience, but you’ll have single missions that allow you to control the cutter in patrols , rescue and interception missions. You’ll also get the limited control of the chopper during some rescue missions. This is the first time that the USCG has ever been featured in a video game.

One of the most important factors for any game on the Xbox 360 is online multiplayer. Alaskan Storm has online multiplayer gameplay. That’s right. You’ll be able to go head to head against 7 other Captains over Xbox Live. Just like the show, you’ll be competing to haul in the most crab you can before the crab season ends. There are 2 target crab species in the game. They are King Crab and Opilio Crab. You will set up your online room to fish for one or the other. An online session can last anywhere from 1 to 4 hours of real time. 1 hour of real time is equivalent to a 24 hour period in the game, and the host has the option to set a session to last 1 to 4 days.

Aside from the multiplayer there is a single player campaign and some mini games to play around with as well. The mini game are only playable in single player mode.

I bought it and love it.

I read the reviews and i was skeptical, but i love the games that take hours and hours just to get past one level. slow paced and strategic. i started at 9 PM. played the first mission and at the end of the mission, it was 1 AM. only felt like about 2 hours. and i love when i get sucked in like that and lose track of time. the graphics are nothing to brag about. but i am also in my early 30's and everything is better than what we grew up on. it wasn't so bad that i thought it was cheesy. i like the challenge of it.

if you like games that suck you and the next thing you know, it's noon the next day? then this is a game for you.

a tip for you though, unless you were top dog after the first mission, DO NOT FIRE YOUR CREW. i did that and i couldn't get anybody good. they kept saying, no i can make more money elsewhere.. and "learn to fish first" one guy said "nope" (or something along those lines)

hope this helps.
