Anyone that has played this game from beginning to end will know that other then the occasional Haunted house style jump out there are few real shockers. between this and the repetition of the monsters is enough to almost make you stop playing... If the game play wasn't so fricken sweet! The puzzle aspect of finding the best order to take off limbs as hordes of beasts surround you in a quarantine area are enough to save the game from its bleak repetition.
Dead Space starts and ends with a bang. Its what Resident Evil 4 would be if its setting was futuristic sci-fi. Graphics were great and the sound was the reason why I have a home theatre. The story plays out by text, audio, and video while you maintain full movement. I recommend it to any fan of shooters, survival-horror, or sci-fi. Its easily the best game ever made by EA and the best halloween treat in a long time.
I'm a huge fan of survival horror and you name it, I've played it. But no Resident Evil nor Silent Hill has ever terrified me as much as this game. Maybe because it does play almost like a first person shooter (kinda like RE4). The creatures come outta nowhere and some are extremely fast. I think the only reason this didn't get a perfect score from me was that the easiest part was the final boss; it wasn't a challenge at all. You'll see why.
