Same Dead Space Feel Without Survival Horror

Same great gameplay with dumbed down mechanics (All ammo is 1 generic type) and a new weapon crafting mechanic which is fun, but to me isn't as survival horror-esque as having to scavenge nodes to beef up the original weapons in the first 2 installments.
Never came close to running out of health or ammo, after the first 1/4 of the game-nothing is scarce, even the precious tungsten. I love dead space as much as the next guy, the plot and story can't even compare to the first 2 games though.
As a standalone game, this is a good one-but I refuse to consider it survival horror like the first 2
