The first Dead Space was awesome. This final rendition of the trilogy was a distant watered down version. The cover system felt very forced, and the combat was obnoxiously repetitive. I am wiping my hands of the Dead Space realm, and I wish that wasn't the case. There was a lot of potential with this series.
This game is just pretty awesome right from the get go. The graphics are sweet and the game play is pretty smooth. I love the storyline thus far, i've put about 9 hours into the game so far and i can't find much i don't like about it so far.
TPS games are always a step up in my book, they usually get either a 9 or 10 rating. I just got done playing Far Cry 3 and i thought it was pretty awesome for FPS, but this game is just leaps and bounds ahead.
Great job Visceral games, this game is a definite buy.
If you like DS1 and DS2, you'll definetly love this installment as well.
This game falls just short of being amazing, because of 3 reasons. They replaced the Power Node system with a really stupid system where circuits have a set power, you don't get to choose what the point goes to. The 2nd reason is the crafting system, because honestly, it feels very stupid, and not like a dead space game. Lastly, this game falls short of not enough horror and too much action. There were probably only 2 sequences in which I couldn't predict a jumpscare, and actually felt scared walking down a hallway or in an elevator. So my final conclusion is an 8/10, but beware, if you are a hardcore dead space fan, you will hate this game for plaguing the franchise, but if you are a newcomer, than I would recommend playing this/
