Not a lot here that hasn't been seen in the previous versions. Story line is a bit much and it is frustrating that there appear to be super weapons but you can never collect enough coin to buy them. A bit repetative and by the end I wanted to kill Elie myself- devolved into a soap opera and they force you to watch (no cut scene skip).

I own Dead Space 1&2, and was psyched about the release of 3. The ability to craft my own weapons? Awesome! But then I played it. Start to finish, it took me about 20 hours to complete the main story, and all single player quests. The graphics are beautiful, and the landscapes are breathtaking in the later half of the game. The controls are as tight as ever, but the weapons feel mushy and underpowered, even with the upgrade circuits. There just isn't that same feeling of impending doom from the first games. The plot is supposed to answer a lot of questions from the series, and that it does, but the characters are kind of silly while they faff about and contribute nothing. I would recommend this if you like action games like Uncharted, but I can't get my head around the loss of the "survival horror" game it could have been.
