Fun for about 30 seconds, then quite possibly the most boring game ever created for the XBoxOne. Played for an hour, hoping it had some redeeming quality - it did not. I play plenty of button mashers, but this was truly awful - saves were so infrequent that when you did die it was like starting all over again. DIrection, notifications of things in the area, all so sub-par it is enough to make you cry. If you have nothing else to do with your time, including sleep, play DR3.
I skipped the first two dead rising games. The long load scenes and confined areas sort of killed it for me.
This was different. The number of zombies, the massive world, the side quests and treasure hunt was all above exceptions.
This is a launch title, and not without it's issues. Graphically, it's only one full step up from a 360 game, it's not bad looking by any means, it's just not as good looking as Ryse or Killzone SF. But this game stomps all over anything else released for the console launches in terms of scope and allowing the user to go through excercising their own creativity and preference for dealing with the zombies.
One grip I have with the gameplay it that you become far too powerful towards the end of the game. On normal the nearly everything including "king" zombies only take one hit from any gun. I would suggest playing on hard as "normal" was definitely too easy.
That said, I did run out of time once and lost all my survivors and safe houses. That was disappointing.
I'd recommend playing on hard, and spending a little time as Richard (Gamefly won't let me use Richard's short name!) in other people's games to clear off some Pyshcos and find blueprints without eating too much of your own time.
