Welcome to the city of Hope Falls, where you take on the role of Fred Neuman, a recently killed private eye in a 50's era world. Fred's head was taken but a scientist manages to keep his brain and eyes thus giving him a dead head. With this new power Fred can take other heads and use them for powers in order to get around.
On the positive side the game does have a good soundtrack to go with it and the voice acting is done very well. Fred who is voiced by John C McGinley (Dr Cox on Scrubs) does deliver the lines with the dry dialouge made famous by Sam Spade, and the concept of usin the heads of your foes as weapons is a very good idea. I especially enjoyed watchin Fred die because they would give him a dyin word line such as "Thank God for check points."
As for the negative, well just about everything else. The combat system is clunky at best. Fred can block most attacks except for the super attacks that your foes use and will end up usin alot. You will die alot in this game because the controls are about as clunky as the combat. The boss' while in a normal game would be push overs get bumped up a few levels because of combat. This game also suffers from bad camera angel's.
All in all I would only recommend this game for the dialouge and that a good game does not make. Dead Head Fred gets a 2 out of 5.
