In this big-budget action sequel, humans and apes battle for what remains of the world. Intelligent apes, led by the complicated revolutionary, Caesar, live together in harmony in a peaceful village in northern California. Most of the humans on earth have been killed by the simian flu, but a small band survives in a guarded tower in San Francisco. In order to keep their power flowing, the men must meet with the apes and convince them to let the humans repair an ailing hydroelectric plant. This sets the stage for a classic standoff and leaves Caesar with an impossible leadership dilemma. Should he show compassion for the humans, or should he listen to his advisor Koba - a Bonobo whose hatred for people springs from his early life as a lab animal - and kill off the men?
