As others have said the game starts out pretty good, the visuals are still excellent, and the new RPG additions work well enough. But by the end it all just feels kinda meh.
The game feels like it was rushed as the first two areas are huge and contain many dungeons to explore, but the third is maybe half the size of them and the final one is about half of that. It really feels like they spent most of their time on the first two and then hurried to do the last two to meet a deadline.
Unfortunately the game still feels really padded out, especially in the dungeons. The first game had a good balance for puzzles and combat but here there is just too many puzzles and not enough combat. Your progress is just constantly being stopped by easy yet time consuming puzzles.
The rpg elemets feel kinda meh partly because there is less fighting than there should be, but mostly because it doesn't really matter what skills you choose. Likewise you can train new moves but I got through just fine with the basic attacks and dodging. Most of the gear that dropped was useless and toward the end I was getting all junk and forced to buy better gear from merchants.
The story also felt pretty shallow. The first game had some mystery and character, where as this time there was no sense of build up or surprises. It all felt very flat and just going through the motions.
Overall it's not a bad game but neither is it very good...just okay. I'd rather go back and play the first game again, honestly.
