An Excellent Rental

Definitely a must rent game.

Darksiders II builds upon a lot of the fun elements of Darksiders (original) and gives new twists to the gameplay, the most important of which is a more RPG style feel to building your character. This is both good and bad when playing, but the good far outweighs the bad.

The combat is fun, the puzzles are good, and the storyline, if a bit trite, is also engaging enough to make you care. However, I would definitely recommend playing the first game before playing this, as the plot is built upon the first one.

The are only a few faults I can find with this game:

One, it seemed to "freeze" on my xbox more than other games. Luckily the auto save feature is quite good and I never lost more than a minute or two of progress.

Two - the first two "worlds" you visit are rich with quests and content, but the last two seem a bit rushed and tiny. So the bulk of your time will be spent in the first couple of worlds and the latter ones can feel a bit disappointing.

Finally - the finale of the game left me a bit wanting; the final boss battle was a bit anti-climactic, but the game did resolve itself nicely and the fun I play playing before this was enough to make me feel good about recommending the game to others.

All in all, I'd give it a 10 - excellent rental.

So for people who have played the first Darksiders, the combat style is very similar in this one. So you will get use to the controls fast and for the people who hated the level, "The black throne" in darksiders.... Not to worry! This one has puzzles but it's not as bad that one. Things have gotten a bit simpler but still challenging. Death is a lot more different then War. He's more agile then War, so you'll be climbing walls and sliding everywhere like mega-man. (It's easy though)

I RECOMMEND ALL TO TRY THIS GAME, ITS NOT STRAIGHT HACK AND SLASH!
