The Darkness Is a dark, dramatic first person shooter from 2k games inspired from the excluded but highly reviewed comic series. I'm going to tell you straight forward that the story is AMAZING. It's script is astonishing and is highly complimented by the realism of the voice acting. From the angry screams of your mafia fool uncle Paulie to the soft innocent whispers from The Jenny Character, you'll be amazed.
But If the story and characters aren't enough to sell you, the music will. The music in the darkness feels as if it is alive, when you roam the streets of china town hearing the china styled music, the piano in Jennys apartment, and the dark horror sound of the darkness themes. It hightens the dramatic scenes in the game, and gives a sort of pushing thrill during the action of gunfights.
The controls of this game are pretty decent. I never really had a problem with switching to a gun I needed, or manifesting the darkness as I pleased. Over all It's pretty standard, If your not that great at shooters you'll love the auto aim in this. It's not to high, but enough to make things comforting.
The missions in this are amazing, but only the main missions. The side missions are pretty bland, offering not much of variety. You'll get told to go to a certain street and kill one or two guys, but that's about it. It's not great, but it kills time. The main reason anybody should do these is for the extra content the reward offers.
My only complaint is the multiplayer. It's Very laggy at times, and feels really rushed. the maps aren't too great, and they tried their best to make things interesting with the ability to shape shift into a darkling. It's terrible, though the campaign makes up for it.
Long story short, Amazing game. Please check it out, you won't be dissapointed.
Pros:
Amazing Story
Great Soundtrack
Voice Acting
The Darkness
Cons:
Multiplayer
Side missions
