The minute i got this game in the mail, I directly sent it back in the next day. After playing the first mission I new I had to get this game!
It's only about 8 bucks at Gamestop. I really recommend buying this game. It's a very decent game size and just awesome! Don't rent it, buy it!

Okay. Now, in '07, I had just gotten my 360 about 6 months before visiting the local rental store. What game do I find on the shelves? A strange title I'd never heard of: "The Darkness"
After playing through this game multiple times, reading about the universe, and collecting as many of The Darkness comics as I can find, I can safely say that this game hooked me. I LOVE The Darkness; it's an intelligent shooter with some moments that can only be described in certain words I doubt GameFly would appreciate me putting. For example: [Jaw drops] "...........----ING AWESOME! AW ---- YEAH THAT WAS ---ING SWEET!" (actual reaction)
Anyway, that's enough about myself. The Darkness is a shooter that any 360 owner who has ever enjoyed a single FPS game should try. I'll do you one better--any 360 owner who enjoyed BioShock to the extent that I did should check this game out. Yes, it lacks the customization of BioShock, but has the best storyline of any game I've ever played--it beat out several Final Fantasy games. Think I'm kidding?
Now, this game does a good job at two things--it'll set an atmosphere that makes you feel like you are Jackie Estacato: a mafia hitman who is possessed by The Darkness, and if you're anything like me, it'll make you want to know more.
Now then, the game has great music that sets the mood perfect, the shooting aspects are designed intelligently and aren't going to have you shouting at your TV for either being too sensitive or not sensitive enough, and you get to many, many people. From innocents to mafia, gang members, cops (yes, cops hate The Darkness too), and even some bizarre German soldiers from around.. eh.. I'm pretty sure the doughboys were WWI, so we'll go with that.
The Darkness is easily one of my favorite games on ANY system--it's up there with The Legend of Dragoon, Lunar 2, and most of my PS2 games--and I hope it'll be one of your favorites, too.
(Proof: How many 10s have I given out before TD? 0!)
